Went with a team from work as part of a team building retreat. Everyone had fun regardless of their fitness level. The more daring challenged themselves to the high ropes, one person went as far as level 3 and was enthusiastically cheered on by the rest of the team. Everyone participated in the low ropes and rifle shooting. We ended up not having time for paint ball or the bungee trampoline but that gave us a reason to make plans to return. Good food (lunch plus bbq) excellent customer service from all the staff. Would highly recommend for either a team building venue or a day out with friends
So where do I start - It took us about and hour to get there form my home in Najeera - we used the Kiira - Kasangati route. We departed at around 09:00am and got there at around 10:00ish. We made a stop to buy drinks and snacks because someone mentioned that there was nothing available before lunch-time (NOT TRUE - Don't take your own food...) On getting there - we were welcomed by Lawrence (He had his name on the back of his shirt :-). Lawrence took us up to the reception/bar/lounge area and handed us over to Benon - Benon set the tone for our stay; a happy guy (GREAT with kids) who took our payment and then handed the adventurers over to Joshua and Aken (who were really patient and great at instructing and encouraging both kids and adults). The Team/My Team had two adult males and 4 children between 6 and 9 went through the safety drill + Instructions with Joshua and Aken and then up they went!!! 2 of the kids pulled out of the rope challenge (It is quite daunting and once you start, the only way is to finish or come down completely). The adults soldiered on (But they are the type that enjoy physically challenging stuff) and the two kids that stayed up AB-SO-LUTELY LOVED it!!!! One of them went for another round. The zip-lining was loved by all (Even the ones who dropped out earlier had a go - and didn't give up even when they had rope-burn). The disappointment was the shooting (We went for target practice). The guide was sullen, rude, and terrible with fun-loving curious kids - his behavior was quite disgraceful. That was the fly in the ointment. Unfortunately, the trampolines were out of service... so that was a disappointment too... but the kids still had a bit of a hop on them while we in-between activities. To crown it all off, the food was great!!! We had chips and chicken, chips and pork, chips and goat and a chicken pizza... A wonderful way to finish off the days activities and head back home. Will we go again? Maybe when the kids are taller and can do level 2! Would I recommend it to others? Yes, if it is your kind of thing. I am not an outdoorsy physical kind of person... but maybe I would have tried it with my sisters. But my family ABSOLUTELY loved it!!! If you have done this kind of thing before.. it might be disappointing. PS - The sun can be BRUTAL, so earlier or later in the day would be the smart time to get there.
